Sounding Board

Ada —

"I wonder how many people will continue to support the Bush tax cuts for those people at the very top of the scale. When they start seeing a decrease in their Social Security, Medicare, funding for the Chickasaw hospital, national weather service, schools, highways, transportation. That is what our government provides. If we don't want to spend money on government services, what will life be like?  We will go to being like a third world country. Should we do that just to keep the various wealthy in their positions?"

"Does God cry? Read John 11:35."

"In order to get the national budget settled, let's hold up the legislators' paychecks until it is settled."

If you count the area most of us consider to be Ada, our community is roughly the same size as Newtown, Conn. where a deranged 20-year-old snuffed out the lives of 26 innocents, including 20 children.
