Valley View Regional Hospital nurses were recently selected to participate in a health care improvement initiative. In January, the American Organization of Nurse Executives received a two-year grant from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to identify, develop and disseminate a set of practical, easy-to-use tools that will help hospitals redesign delivery of care processes to improve patient care. VVRH was selected as one of 50 nationwide hospitals to participate in the project.

Kudos to Byng Family and Consumer Sciences on the addition of its ProStart course. The program is designed to give students real life skills, real knowledge and real jobs. It was created by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. The program introduces students to ideas not normally found in traditional programs — topics like customer relations, accounting, food cost controls and marketing. Papa Gjorgjo’s recently mentored the Byng students.
