Good Luck to Ada’s own Leah Lyon who will pit her skills and recipe for Coal-Roasted Chuckbox Pozole Stuffed Onions against four other finalists in the second national Redwood Creek Wines Campfire Classic competetion for a $10,000 grand prize and $5,000 donation to her favorite national park.

Kudos to Bill Koller, veteran boys’ coach and later Byng High School principal, who was inducted along with four other coaches at OBU’s Basketball Hall of Fame, Shawnee, on June 9.

Congrats to Jeff Maloy, a Byng alumnus and current Byng resident, who was inducted into the girls’ basketball coach’s Hall of Fame at Weatherford last week.

Thanks to all the Ada area emergency personnel who worked the flash flood incidents Monday. You guys did a fabulous job in keeping Ada safe.

Kudos to Clay Plunk, 18, Ada, who has been honored for his exemplary volunteer service with a state - level Certificate of Excellence from the 2007 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program. Plunk was nominated for this award by Byng High School where he is a graduating senior.

Hats off to Dr. Emily Russell Berry who graduated in 2007 from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.

Joseph B. Harrison, Roff, competed in the team roping event at the 2007 College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo., June 10-16.

Kudos to two Ada residents, Gary and Janie Whitedeer, who were selected to participate in a march in Ireland in May to commemorate a time when Native Americans and the Irish banded together for a good cause.
