Ada’s Laughing Place was in high gear July 4th at Wintersmith Park. The Fireball Classic set a new record with 575 participants. The Turtle races were fast and furious, the kids learned how to shave with whip cream and Popsicle sticks, future scientists were introduced to the wonders of Bernoulli’s Principle, watermelon was spit to new heights along with jelly beans, the yoke was on many people in the egg toss,  people went head over heels for the Judo demonstration, Toe Sack races kept people hopping and balloon races kept things popping, the Fire Hose Wars were wet and wild, the train and miniature golf entertained hundreds, the snow cones were yummy, the evening fireworks display was the best in Oklahoma, and the record-breaking attendance was the real bang for everyone’s efforts.

Thanks goes to the Herculean efforts of the Kiwanis Club, the Sunrise Rotary, The Ada Lions Club, The Judo School, The Ada Fire Department, the Boy Scouts of Troop 13, the Ada Police, Richard Barron’s excellent photos and The Ada News, Tony Mondejar’s Voice, and George Welch and fireworks crew. What an awesome Fireworks Finale! See you next Fourth of July. Start training your turtles.
