STILLWATER, Okla. — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation after an SUV hit and killed a Stillwater woman while she was walking with a 10-month-old boy Sunday night.

The collision occurred at about 9:45 p.m. on the 2400 block of South Main Street. A report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol states that a man and his wife, both Perkins residents, were driving south on the road when their 2013 Toyota SUV departed the road to the right.

The couple weren't hurt, but the vehicle hit 19-year-old Carey Schallot of Stillwater, and a 10-month-old boy whose name has been withheld. Schallot was pronounced dead at the scene from whole body injuries, and a helicopter flew the boy to OU Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City for whole body injuries. He was admitted in critical condition.

The cause of the collision, as well as the driver's condition, is still under investigation. The weather was clear at the time.
