Services for Walter Thomas Burton, 86, Ada, are 11 a.m. Saturday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. David Gray officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mr. Burton died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at a local nursing home. He was born June 2, 1927, in Barnsdall, Okla., to William Thomas and Opal May Deen Burton. He graduated from Oklahoma State University.

Mr. Burton married Marguerite A. Barnes Dec. 31, 1955, in Bartlesville. She died Jan. 10, 2011, in Ada. Mr. Burton was employed with Kerr Research Lab in Ada, retiring after 23 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and had served in the military during World War II.

Survivors include a brother, Floyd Burton and his wife Reba of McAlester; a niece, Almeda Harrel of Ada; and several other nieces and nephews.

Bearers are Larry Morris, Kenny Morris, James Doyle Marion, Troy Reust, Travis Reust and Jon King.
