Larry Edward Odell Sr.

Asher —

Larry Edward Odell Sr., 59, a resident of Asher, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Ada.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11 at the First Baptist Church in Asher under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Burial will follow in Vista Cemetery.  

Pallbearers are Brett Odell, Joe Ray Milburn, Jake Zumwalt, Ronnie Lynn Odell, Bob Gladden, and Jim Sharp.  Visitation will be Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.

Larry was born Aug. 5, 1954 in Ada to Eugene and Valeta (Stehr) Odell.  He graduated from Asher High School in 1972 and served in the U.S. Marines for four years.  He married Lisa Elizabeth Wilkerson Dec. 21, 1973, at Garland, Texas.  

He worked as a welder for Holt’s Trailer Sales in Asher for over 20 years and was also a volunteer for the Asher Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lisa Odell of the home; one son, Larry Odell Jr. and wife, Tammy of Asher; two daughters, Amie Williamson and husband, Mike of Asher, and Michelle Ranells of Konawa; two brothers, Sonny and Karen Odell of Asher, and Leroy and Karen Odell of Asher; two sisters, Eileen and Robert Gladden of Asher, and Peggy and Paul Allen of St. Louis, Oklahoma; and nine grandchildren, Haley, Ashley, and Tray Odell of Asher, Josh, Dylan, Jessie, and Sammie Williamson of Asher, Shelby and William Ranells of Konawa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Valeta Odell.
