James Lee Leader, 79, died at his home in Albert, March 16, 2013. He was born Oct. 31, 1933, at Allen to Clarence and Virgie Duncan Leader.
During his senior year at Lula High School, Mr. Leader enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He later worked as a cross country trucker for most of his life. He was a member of the Chickasaw Nation and Teamsters Union.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Charles "Sonny" Leader and Billy Floyd Leader; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Leader; and a brother-in-law, Walter Roth.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Leader of the home; two sons, Henry Gamble and friend Chris Thompson, Oklahoma City, and James Gamble and wife, Donna, Piedmont; a daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Steven Combs Sr., Bethal Acres; five grandchildren, Sidney Gamble and Serria Gamble, both of Oklahoma City, Mercedes Combs, Steven Combs Jr. and Hunter Combs, all of Bethel Acres; two great-grandchildren, Chloe Combs, Bethel Acres, and Kayden Gamble, Oklahoma City; two brothers, Lynn Leader, Dickson, and Danny "Skip" Leader, Poteau; four sisters, Izola Jean Roth, Ada, Sue and husband Bill Smith, Stonewall, CloDean and husband Allen Rumley, Pocasset, and Margarette and husband Randy Harp, Ada; two sisters-in-law, Helen Leader, Seminole, and Charlotte Leader, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
