Services for “Edd” Ralph Edward Bottom, 88, Asher, are 1 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at Pontotoc County Agri-plex in Ada. Burial follows at Visa Cemetery. Donnie Gee and Shannon Hall will officiate. 

Mr. Bottom died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Tecumseh. He was born Feb. 1, 1925, in Lake Valley, Okla., to Shannon Brewer Bottom and Ella Belle Taylor Bottom.  

He married Lillie Marie Reinschmeidt on Feb. 20, 1943, at Bessie. 

Mr. Bottom was a horse trainer and a rancher all his life. He was a member of the following associations: National Cutting Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association, Southern Oklahoma Cutting Horse Association, the Central Oklahoma Cutting Horse Association and Western Oklahoma Cutting Horse Association. He won the 1982 Reserve Champion of the Futurity (NCHA), 1985 Reserve World Champion Cutting Horse, and 1985 World Champion Stallion. He was inducted into the National Cutting Horse Hall of Fame in 1997.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie Wayne and Charlotte Bottom, Macomb; three daughters and sons-in-law, Darla and Steve Miles, Asher, Connie and Ronnie Wartchow, Roff, and Phyllis and Richard Sisco, Asher; eight grandchildren, Chad Wartchow, Mark Wartchow, Melanie Keck, Steffanie Fleming, Eddie Bottom, Jr., C.J. Sisco, Mike Sisco, and Ricky Sisco; 10 great-grandchildren, Sean Fleming, Shelby Fleming, Sarah Fleming, Carley Collings, Coy Wartchow, Riley Wartchow, McKenzie Wartchow, Andrew Fleming, Chelsy Bottom and Braxten Frasier.

Mr. Bottom was preceded in death by his parents, Shannon and Ella Bottom; his wife, Lillie Bottom, one daughter, Charlotte Ann Bottom, and nine brothers and sisters.

Bearers are Tony Kuestersteffen, Jim Sharp, Mason Allen, Ron Phay, Gaylon Wells, Sonny O’Dell, Jerry Bob Seago, and Junior Grissom.  Honorary bearers are Gary Fry, Ham Brown, James Hargrove, John Carter, Roger Harris, Glen Pruitt, Jack Turner, C.J. Sisco, Eddie Bottom, Jr., Chad Wartchow, Mark Wartchow, Ronnie Wartchow, Steve Miles, Richard Sisco, Dan Fleming, Jason Keck, and Greg Hillerman.
