Ada — WANDA SAVAGE

Services for Wanda Ruth Savage, 84, Ada, are 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at Pickard Funeral Home Chapel, Stratford.

Officiating are Mike Savage, Duane Rosson, and Shawn Lawson.

Burial  follows at McGee Cemetery Stratford.

Mrs. Savage died Nov. 27, 2013, at her home. She was born July 18, 1929, in Dill City, Okla., to Othel A. and Gertrude (Easter) Savage. She died Nov. 27, 2013, at her home in Ada.

She was the office manager for OG&E, until retirement. She went to school and graduated from Amber High School near Chickasha. She has lived in the Stratford/Ada area most of her adult life. She was a member of East Main Church Of Christ in Stratford and a member of OG&E Retirement Group.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two brothers, O.A. Savage and his wife, Darla, Stratford, and Jerry Savage and his  wife, Marlene, Bentonville, Ark.; one sister, Linda Rosson and her husband, Duane, Stratford; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Bearers are Mark Savage, Tim Rosson, Shawn Lawson, Pat Savage, Paul Savage and Heston Bush. Honorary bearers are James Simpson, Tom Bush, Bill Hill, Jim Herndon, Russ Allen, Larry Savage, Carl Savage, Eddie Savage, Tommy Savage, Kevin Savage, and the Ada Firefighters,

SIBYL JACOBS

ADA-Services for Sibyl Bertha Jacobs, 98, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Rollow Chapel of the First United Methodist Church, Dr. Roberto Escamilla and Revs. David L. Daniel and Bob Langston will officiate. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Linden Cemetery in Linden, Texas.

Mrs. Jacobs died Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at an Ada nursing home. She was born January 2, 1915 in Linden, Texas to Elmer F. and Bessie Tarver Almond. She graduated from high school and attended cosmetology school.

She married Eugene Benson. She later married William “Bill” Jacobs. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Jacobs worked as a unit clerk at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City until her retirement, and she was also a beautician and cosmetologist in Northeast Texas and Oklahoma City. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women and other related Bible Study Groups. She was a seamstress through the age of 95 and an avid gardener.

Survivors include her children, Charlene Wilson Wade and her husband, Dr. Donald Wade of Charleston, SC, Barbara King of Ada, and Tania Benson of Topeka, KS; four grandchildren, Mike Wade, South Carolina, Mark Wade, Minnesota, Wynn Stinson and Mary Stinson, both of Oklahoma; seven great grandchildren, Sarah Wade Walter, Anthony Wade, Joseph Wade, Ben Wade, Ali Wade, Jake Stinson and Jessica Stinson; one sister, Mary Pickens, Dallas, TX; nieces, Cassie Points and Karis Pickens, both of Texas; nephew, Bill Almond, Texas; and many cousins, great nephews and great nieces and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Jacobs; a brother, Elmer “Junior” Almond; sisters, Lillian Kelley and Doris Jackson; a granddaughter, Susan Ann Wade; and nephews, Elmer (Boots) Almond, Ben Almond, and Walt Kelley.

Bearers will be Billy Rice, John Anderson, Col. Ron Little (ret.), John Sparks, Terry Dobson and Steve Miller. Honorary bearers will be Jewel Carter, Leah Brothers, Beth Hill, Carolyn Sparks, Ruth Anderson and Helen Miller.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the First United Methodist Church in Sulphur, P. O. Box 657, Sulphur, OK 73086 or the First United Methodist Church in Ada, P. O. Box 566, Ada, OK 74821 for their card ministry.

SUZZIE DAVIS    

BYARS-Graveside services for Suzzie Ann Davis, 55, of Byars, Oklahoma, are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Byars Cemetery, Rev. Kevin Driskell will officiate.

Mrs. Davis died Friday, November 29, 2013 at her home. She was born July 11, 1958 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Homer Franklin and Virginia Holloway Duty. She attended school at Latta.

She married William Daniel Davis in 1991.  Mrs. Davis was a caregiver for many years, and also had worked as a convenience store clerk.  She was a member of the Byars First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, William Davis, of the home, three sisters, Frankie May of Ada, Helen Breeden of Ada, and Glenda Duty of California.    

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Jessie Miller.

DARRON HENDERSON    

FRANCIS-Services for Darron Jay Henderson, 40, of Francis, Oklahoma, are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Jamie Perry will officiate.  Burial will follow at Cedar Grove cemetery in Francis, Oklahoma.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.   

Mr. Henderson died Friday, November 29, 2013 at a local hospital. He was born October 11, 1973 in Orange, California to Lyle J. and Alice Irene Diamond Henderson.  He came to the Ada area as a child, and graduated from the Byng school system.

He was an electrician at Holcim Cement Company, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers D114.  He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Survivors include one son, Dylan Wade Henderson of Ada, one daughter, Mary Katherine “Katie” Bennett of Princeton, NC, his parents, Lyle and Alice Henderson of Francis, two brothers, Lyle David Henderson and wife Amy of Waverly, Ohio, and Justin Wade Henderson and wife Jade of Ada, and a niece, Reagan Henderson.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Myrtle Irene (Memaw) Diamond and W.S. (Bill) Diamond, and is paternal grandfather Lyde J. Henderson.

Bearers will be Robbie Black, Todd Fugate, Eric Martin, Evan Martin, Wesley Harrod, and Bobby Martin.

ADA-Services for Rosa V. Bradford, 60, of Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Roff First Baptist Church, Rev. Steve Wilburn will officiate. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery in Roff.

Mrs. Bradford died Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at her home. She was born January 16, 1953 in Ada, Oklahoma to Karl and Anna Marie Veber. She graduated from high school and also attended college.

She married Melton John Bradford on July 10, 1971 in Roff. Mrs. Bradford was employed with Oklahoma Heritage Bank for 10 years and later with Tyler Junior College for 6 years.

Survivors include her husband, John Bradford, of the home; a daughter, Amanda Kelso and husband Clark of Roff; a son, Michael Bradford and wife Heather of Ada; two brothers, Emmerich Veber and wife Norma and Karl Veber, both of Roff; a sister, Helen Barnes and husband Mike of Boise City, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Bearers will be Clark Kelso, Michael Bradford, Rocky Barnes, Blake Rauch, Ken Rauch, Melvin Bradford and Kevin Rhoads.
