Anita Sue Turner
Anita Sue Turner was truly a classy lady. She was a Christian who loved the Lord and attended Church all her life. She was thoughtful, funny, witty, compassionate and generous. She was a loyal friend to many.
Anita was born October 9, 1931 and died Thursday, Nov 3, 2011 in her home with her loving family by her side.
Anita was born to D. C. and Christine Farr and lived in Davis most of her life and left to pursue her teaching degree at USAO, OSU and East Central University. She retired from teaching the 2nd grade at Homer School in 1981. After retirement, she enjoyed many hours of playing bridge and volunteering at Valley View Hospital, the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, Golden Agers and being the best grandmother a grandchild could ask for.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Donald Farr, her son, Kenny Turner and a grandson, Kris Hunley.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ken Turner; her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki & Kieth Hunley of Norman and a brother Joe Farr of Ruidoso, NM. “Mimi” is survived by 3 grandchildren; Jami Riddle of Oklahoma City, Shane Gurley of Mesquite, TX and Stephanie Duke of Ada and 7 great grandchildren.
Ken and Vicki would like to thank Jenny, Rhonda, Buffy and Russell with Faith Hospice for their compassion and help during the last weeks.
Graveside services will be held in Davis at the Greenhill Cemetery on Tuesday, Nov 8, 2011 at 2:00 PM.
Pallbearers will be Monroe Hodges, Andy Anderson, Trovall Pipkin, Tony Humphreys, Shane Gurley and Kieth Hunley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Salvation Army in her name.
Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Davis.
