Theodore Wayne “Ted” Sims

Allen —

Services for Theodore Wayne “Ted” Sims, 46, Allen, are 10 a.m. Friday at Church of God of Prophecy in Allen, the Rev. Ed Rutherford officiating. Burial follows at  Calvin Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Allen Chapel from 3 p.m. Thursday until service time.

Mr. Sims died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at his home. He was born Jan. 18, 1967, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Donald R. and Linda Nolen Sims. He attended grade school in Calvin and graduated from Allen High School.

Mr. Sims was a self-employed vendor. He sold beef jerky for Don’s Lazy S Jerky.

Survivors include a daughter, Lacey Mowdy and her husband, Clint, of Coalgate; three sons, Hunter Sims, Ada, Austin Sims of Texas and Tanner Sims of Allen; his father, Donald R. Sims and his wife, Flossie, Allen; his mother, Linda Trinkle, Allen; a brother, Donald R. Sims Jr. of Allen; sister, Melinda Haney, Allen; a granddaughter, Tresley Mowdy, Coalgate; grandson, Ayden Sims, Ada; two stepbrothers, Richard Gyer and Kelly Bohanan, both of Allen; and a step sister, Jennifer Frederick, Atwood.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Edward Sims.

Bearers are Paul Goodman, Jerry Ford, Tommy Peay, Bruce Williams, Kevin McCormick and Martin Hackney. Honorary bearers are Dewayne Darby, Clint Mowdy and Clayton Hackney.
