Services for Alvin Henry Harden, 86, Calvin, are 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Free Will Baptist Church in Calvin.Officiating is the Rev. Jim Lawrence. Burial follows at Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville.
Mr. Harden died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at his home in Calvin. He was born Feb. 13, 1927, to John William Harden and Hattie Bell Harden in Holdenville.
During World War II, Mr. Harden was in the 40th Air Engineer Squadron where he was a parachute rigger. He married Norma McDonald on March 27, 1949, in Van Buren, Ark. He then moved to Calvin where he raised cattle.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Hattie Bell Harden; a daughter, Vicki Faye Harden; brothers, Arthur, Robert, Bill, Fred, Dudley and John Wesley; and sisters, Maybell Moffat and Vivian Moore.
Survivors include his wife Norma Harden; his daughter, Sheila Crawshaw, Calvin; a son and daughter-in-law, Alvin Don and Ruth Harden, Oklahoma City; a grandson, Steven Don Crawshaw, Calvin; granddaughters, Vicky Faye Harden and Amber Dawn Harden, both of Oklahoma City; a great-grandson, Draven Sullivan; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ed and Doris Harden, Holdenville, and Joe Harden, Holdenville; a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Ray Palin, Savannah; and many more family members and friends.
Bearers are Joe Henry Harden, Greg Harden, Phillip Yancey, John Wayne Smith, Phil Harden and David Glen Harden. Honorary bearers will be Bill Willis, Tommy McCollum and Cleetis Lowe.
