LARRY BOWEN

Ada —

ADA — Funeral services for Larry Dale Bowen, 67, Ada, will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2010,  at Trinity Baptist Church in Ada.  Interment will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery near Konawa. Officiating will be the Rev. Rusty Fuller and assisting will be the Rev. David Gray and Don Sayre.

Family to welcome friends for visitation at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home from 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday, May, 9.

Mr. Bowen died Friday, May 7, 2010,  at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born June 3, 1942, in Big Lake, Texas, to Ebb Bowen and Hazel Muncrief Bowen.

He married Lynda Morris on June 11, 1965,  at First Baptist Church in Comanche.

Mr. Bowen attended Comanche High School while growing up. He worked as a caretaker for the Pauls Valley State School in Pauls Valley for many years. He retired in 2001. He moved to Ada from Wynnewood in 2006. He was a member of  Trinity Baptist Church in Ada. He had been a deacon at the Eastern Gate Baptist Church in Wynnewood for many years.

Survivors includ his wife, Lynda Bowen of the home; one son, Lance Bowen and his wife Mylinda, Ada; one daughter, Tami Russell and her husband Brian, Ada; three brothers, Wendell Bowen, Wynnewood, Don Bowen, Comanche, and David Bowen, Tyler, Texas; six sisters, Maxie Chaney and Barbara Sue McMurtry, both of Comanche, JoAnn Bowden, Duncan, Becky Colvin, Fort Worth, Texas, Helen Benigni, Granbury, Texas, and Gayla Wadsworth, Madill; and two grandchildren, Koby Bowen and Taylor Russell, both of Ada.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ebb and Hazel Bowen and one brother, Kenneth Bowen.

Bearers are Dee Bowen, Billy Bowen, Allen Bowen, Cecil Henderson, Don Sayre and William Fuentes

Honorary bearers are members of the church fellowship class.
