James Paul Bunnell

Konawa —

James Paul Bunnell, age 78 and a resident of Konawa, passed away on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa, with Rev. Mitch Williams officiating the services. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.   

James was born Jan. 9, 1935, in Wewoka to Burt Frances Bunnell and Clara Anne (Bates) Bunnell. He married Betty Bent on Sept. 1, 1962, in San Jose, Calif.

James was a self-employed carpenter.  

He is survived by two daughters, Carla Hammack of Konawa and Tina Badgett of Winnetka, Calif.; five grandchildren, Katrina King of Krebs,  Zoie Harmon of McLoud, Sarah Willson of McAlester, Jamie Hammack of Maine and Priscilla Badgett of Graneda Hills, Calif.; four great-grandchildren, Fayth Walsh of Krebs, Grady Walsh of Krebs, Logen Willson of McAlester and Riley Willson of McAlester.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burt and Clara Bunnell, and his wife, Betty Bunnell, on Sept. 21, 2012.
