Helen Viola Reed Horton

Services for Helen Viola Reed Horton, 83, Allen, are 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel, Coalgate, the Rev. Glen Russell officiating. Burial follows at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Family night is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012.

Mrs. Horton died Jan. 9, 2012, at Pauls Valley. She was born Dec. 6, 1928, at Indianola to Reuben and Eva Ruby Bynum Reed.

She attended Tupelo, Ada and Stonewall schools and was a seamstress and a caregiver.

She and Ura Manuel Horton, MSG, were married Feb. 6, 1946, at Ada. He died May 6, 2007.

Survivors include children, Durwin Manuel Horton and wife Levata, Yukon, Okla., Adrian Uriah Horton and Kathy, Allen, and Vicky Janet Horton Standridge and husband Jim, Pauls Valley; grandchildren, Donita Kay Horton Barnes and husband Josh, Darrel Joseph Standridge and wife Brandy, Helen Lucinda Horton McKay and husband John, Adrain Manuel Horton and wife Chelsey and Jennifer Rene Standridge Myers; great-grandchildren, Shane Sorrels, Kurtis Jacobs, Tyler Pierce, Benjamin Michael Horton, Hannah Horton, Riley Horton, Jackson Horton, Dustin Woods, Jaren Standridge, Jacelyn Standridge, Jada Standridge, Makaila Myers, Kelsey McKay and Alanah McKay; and one great-great-grandchild, Cannon Jacobs; siblings, Bea Logue, Melba Mullins, Jeannie Adams, Patsy Horton, Carl Wade, Matt Wade and Robert Reed; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by her father, Reuben R. Reed, mother, Eva Ruby Bynum Wade, husband, Ura Manuel Horton, MSG; siblings, Cleve Wade, Woodrow Wade and Verna Keltner; daughters, Cynthia Kay Horton Lancaster and Alicia Katrinka Horton; grandsons, Branden Michael Horton and Durwin Manuel Horton Jr.; and a granddaughter, Ann Marie Horton.

Bearers are Joe Standridge, Shane Sorrels, Kurtis Jacobs, Deano Adams, John McKay and Josh Barnes.

Honorary bearers are Tyler Pierce, Adrian Manuel Horton, John Clifton Ellis, Dustin Woods and Jaren Standridge.
