BETTY DeWITT

ADA — Memorial services for Betty Jo DeWitt, 46, Ada, are 1 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Abba's House of Worship Center, Ada.

Ms. DeWitt died June 8, 2009, at Kansas City, Mo. She was born Feb. 7, 1963, in Arizona.

Ms. DeWitt was owner of Angelic Painting and Dry Wall in Ada and a member of Abba's House in Ada.

Survivors include a son, Christopher and his wife Jayna McWethy, Noble; two daughters, Victoria and her husband Blaise Ledford, Broken Bow, and Cherokee Standon, Ada; her mother, Serena Bounds, Ada; stepfather, Steven Sweet, Ada; four sisters, Pamela DeWitt, Norman, Brenda Collingsworth, Seminole, Valarie Bandsworth, Ada, and Donna Bates, Kingston; a brother, Donald DeWitt, Ada; four grandchildren, Kayleigh and Madyson McWethey, both of Noble, and Levi and Kirbie Ledford, both of Broken Bow; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Services for Rick Alan Smith, 41, Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Ada, Okla., are 1 p.m. Saturday at St. James Church of God in Christ in Ada, the Rev. Charles Miller and Alfred Douglas will officiate. Burial will follow at Athens Cemetery, Ada.

Mr. Smith died Friday, June 5, 2009, at Las Vegas, Nev. He was born Sept. 30, 1967, at Ada to Andre Smith and Andrea E. “Tina” Moore. He graduated from Ada High School in 1985.

He married Cheryl Knighton on Feb. 18, 1990.

Mr. Smith was a manager at Taco Bell in Las Vegas and a football coach. He attended the International Church of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Smith, of the home; three sons, Demetrius, Thaddeusz and Tobias; and two daughters, Jasmine and Jenesis, all of Las Vegas, Nev.; his mother, Andrea “Tina” Moore, Ada; special sister, “Lil” Debra Sauls, (Dittra); siblings, Jessica Moore, McLoud, Tyrus Moore, Alva, and Tyrone Moore, Lexington; great-aunts, Alberta Ross and Vera Fortson, both of Oakland, Calif.; great-uncle, Al Kemp, Borger, Texas; aunts, Bernice Carolyn Sauls, Ada, Debra Stevens and D’Ann Kelly, Oklahoma City, and Karen Wilkerson, San Diego, Calif.; uncle, Steven Guidry, Lawton; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents, Elder J.V. Moore, sister Margaret Moore, and sister Thelma Sauls

Bearers will be Virgil Nelson, Duane Hysten, James D. Moore, Phillip Mitchell, Sam Langley, Tyrone Frazier, Marquis Carter and Tom Kelly. Honorary bearers will be Tyrus Moore, Charles Kemp, Michael Sauls, Janquil Rogers, Demetrius Smith and Thaddeusz Smith. Flowers bearers will be LaShonda Davis, Leta Grant, Tonya Rasmussen, Victoria Douglas, Oretha Hysten, Eshawa Brown, Adriene Joubert and Mary McFadden. Honorary flower bearers will be Wanda Nelson, Chasity Harper, Sharee Lewis, Samantha Langley, Jasmine Smith, Raven Craig, Ashley Craig and Sherry Whitey.
