ARDMORE — Services for Beverly Ann Baptiste Stick, 53, Ardmore were 10 a.m. today at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with THE Rev. Randy Baptiste officiating. Burial followed at Hickory Cemetery. Mrs. Stick died May 3, 2007 at Ardmore.
She was born Dec. 16, 1953 at Ardmore to Robert Lee Baptiste, Sr., and Frances Parker Baptiste. She married Bill Stick at Ada. She was a member of the Northeast Baptist Church and the pitcher for the Kachina Dolls fast-pitch softball team.
Mrs. Stick was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and a sister.
Survivors included daughter, Heather Taylor and husband Joe, Tulsa; son, Jackie Burris, II., Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Myrtle Chotkey, Oklahoma City, and Stella Baptiste, Calumet; brothers, Lonzo Baptiste and wife Gloria, Ardmore, Robert Baptiste, Jr., Ardmore, Thomas Baptiste and wife Maggie, Tulsa, and Dennis Baptiste and wife Mamie, Ardmore; four grandchildren, Megan, T’Erah, Mikayla and Donavan Taylor, all of Tulsa; and several nieces and nephews.
Bearers are Jerome Morgan, Joe Taylor, Donald Strebeck, Harry Marris, Phil Marris and Tony Marris. Honorary bearers are grandson, Donavan Taylor; brothers, Dennis Baptiste, Robert Baptiste, Jr., Thomas Baptiste, Lonzo Baptiste; and the Kachina Dolls Fast Pitch Softball team.

ADA-Services for Gilbert Ray Stettler, 72, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Baptist Church, Dr. Rusty Fuller and Rev. David Gray will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The Tinker Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Stettler died Saturday, May 5, 2007 at a local hospital. He was born June 23, 1934 at Wetumka, Oklahoma to Lloyd S. and Dollie Haught Stettler. He and his family moved to Harden City when he was five years old. He graduated from McLish High School in 1953.
He married De Ann Rudig on April 20, 1957. Mr. Stettler was employed with Hazel-Atlas Glass Plant and Safeway Grocery store prior to enlisting in the U. S. Air Force. After serving four years, he received an Honorable Discharge from the U. S. Air Force. He then worked in construction for one year before going into the U. S. Postal Service. Mr. Stettler worked as a clerk and was promoted to Assistant Postmaster for the last 10 years prior to retirement. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service with 27 years of service. Mr. Stettler was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, De Ann Stettler, of the home; a daughter, Rebecca L. Smith and husband Travis Smith, Ada; a granddaughter, Connie Nicole Smith, Ada; two sisters, Kathryn Worthy, Ada, and Wanda Harris, Pearland, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be Bob Davis, Don Sayre, Richard Stettler, David Stettler, Kenneth Roberts, and Larry Worthy. Honorary bearers are J. R. Johnson, Pete Presley, and Donnie Meeks.
