Services for Louis B. Sandmann, 84, longtime Coalgate resident, are 2 p.m Monday, April 8, 2013, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, David Unsell officiating. Assisting are Gary Coffee and Susan Eddings. Burial follows at Coalgate Cemetery.
Mr. Sandmann died April 5, 2013, at Coalgate. He was born Oct. 29, 1928, at Cottonwood to Max Eberhart and Anna Forneris Sandmann.
Mr. Sandmann attended Lee Grade School and graduated from Coalgate High School in 1946. He married Joy Eileen Thomas on July 3, 1953, at Rockwell, Texas. She died Dec. 20, 2000.
He and his wife owned and operated the Dairy Dream for 39 years. He served on the Coalgate City Council, Red Ark Board and the Coal County General Hospital Board and was an original board member for the Big 5 Community Services. He attended Corner Stone Praise and Worship Church
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Larry Eddings; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Laura Sandmann; grandchildren, Cliff Sandmann Eddings, Will Louis Eddings, Lauren Sandmann Crow and husband, Matt, Jennifer Ann Sandmann, Jill Susann Eddings and Morgann Joy Sandmann; great-grandson, Blayne Cordell Crow; and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Sandmann was preceded in death by his parents, Max Eberhart and Anna Forneris Sandmann.
Bearers are Gary Coffee, Jim Coffee, George Haney, Brett Burns, David Battles, Scott Eddings, Tony Gibby, Jim Girten, Bob Cody, David Enrico, David Ellis, Joe Mixon and Doyle Baldwin
Family night is 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Sandmann home.
