Walter Lamb

Konawa —

Services for Walter Haskell Lamb, 95, a long-time resident of Konawa, are 10 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, Konawa, with Jerry States officiating. Burial follows at Konawa Cemetery.  

 Visitation is Easter Sunday is from 2-5 p.m.

Mr. Lamb died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at an Ada hospital. He was born on Oct. 2, 1917, in Valiant to Joseph R. Lamb and Lula A. Williams Lamb. 

He was a retired lieutenant colonel Air Force pilot who had served in the military for more than 24 years and served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Ada.

He married Wilma Jean Crenshaw Butler on July 20, 1986, in Ada.

They lived in Konawa for more than 26 years. 

Survivors include his wife, Wilma Lamb of the home; two sons, Rod Lamb and Michael Lamb, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; two stepsons, Bob Butler, Konawa, and Dwight Butler, Oklahoma City; three stepdaughters, Sharron Gladden, Konawa, Donna Walker, Konawa, and Teresa Miley of Texas; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Lamb was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and four sisters; one daughter, Carolyn Watts; and one grandson, Joey Gladden.

Pallbearers are Walt Lamb, Byron Lamb, Donald Lamb, Dwight Butler, Bob Butler, and Charles Gladden.  Honorary bearers are David Roe, Michael Roe and Jim Watts.
