Nora Garrett


Graveside services for Nora Viola Methvin Garrett,  89, are at 1 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at Jesse Cemetery.

 She died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at a local nursing center. She was born July 8, 1923, to James and Oma Methvin at Leachville, Ark. She was one of ten children.

She married William E. "Buck" Garrett on June 2, 1936, and they celebrated 69 years together.

Survivors include her children, Patricia Moore of Haileyville, Virgie Garrett of Ada, Terry and Shana Garrett of Las Vegas, Nev., and Sherri Cliburn of Ada; 24 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buck; a son, Royce L. Garrett; her parents, James Methvin and Oma M. Hall; a stepfather, Buster Hall; four sisters; and five brothers.
