Ada — Robert Norman Jr.

PARIS, Ark. — Graveside services for Robert Jefferson Norman Jr., 88, of Paris, Ark., and formerly of Ada are at 10 a.m. Monday at Rosedale Cemetery. Wayne West will officiate.

Mr. Norman died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, in Paris, Ark.

He was born Nov. 27, 1925, in Stonewall to Robert Jefferson Norman and Emma Jane Boatright Norman. He attended Stonewall schools.

He married Wilma Nadine West on Oct. 4, 1947. She preceded him in death on Nov. 20, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark.

Mr. Norman delivered ice for Southern Ice in Ada and later was a welder for Sun Oil Company until his retirement. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II from Jan. 13, 1944, until being honorably discharged April 23, 1946.

Survivors include his daughter, Donna Sue Williams and her husband, B.J., of Ratcliff, Ark.; two granddaughters, Christina Norman of Norman and Rachael Lee and her husband, Jason, of Ada; one grandson, Zackery Williams and his wife, Lisa, of Kathleen, Ga.; and six great-grandchildren, Ava and Naomi Williams, Tylar Lee and Jasie Lee, Lewis Rostron and Jason Rostron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Richard Royce Norman and Randall Robert Norman; a grandson, Scott Shea Williams; and four brothers, Jim Norman, Melvin Norman, Alvin Norman and Kenneth Norman.

William A. “Bill” Young, 66, retired electronic technician and U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran, died Monday, March 10, 2014.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlan “Spec” and Madge Young; his first wife, Linda, and second wife, Kathy.

Survivors include his fiancée Jenny Gluckman McCracken, and numerous cousins and friends.

Mr. Woods died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at a Tishomingo nursing center.

Alvis McDaniel

ADA — Services for Alvis Lee McDaniel, 80, of Ada are at 2 p.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Frank Trent will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. McDaniel died Friday, March 14, 2014, at a Shawnee hospital.

He was born Oct. 11, 1933, at Ada to Leroy and Mae Hughes McDaniel. He lived in this area all his life and graduated from Vanoss High School in 1952. He also attended East Central University.

Mr. McDaniel had been employed at Otasco, Trader Mills, Transcon Lines, Lee Way and Haliburton Freight Services. He was of the Baptist faith and had served in the U. S. Army.

Survivors include a sister, Lawana Cannon, of the home; one brother, Dennis McDaniel and his wife, Deloris, of Oklahoma City; four nephews; three nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Vonda Dees and Kathy Deaton; and two brothers-in-law, Charles Cannon and Orlan Dees.

Bearers will be his nephews.

Geneva Worcester

ADA — Services for Geneva Bell Worcester, 61, of Ada are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Stephen Wall will officiate. Burial will follow at Seely-Blue Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the home of Robin Fulsom, 1217 N. Bolton, Ada, from 3 p.m. today until Tuesday morning.

Ms. Worcester died Friday, March 14, 2014, in El Reno.

She was born May 19, 1952, in Talihina to Nicholas and Lillian Sealy Worcester. She lived in Oklahoma City and attended Homer and Byng schools. Ms. Worcester was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include Tom and Linda Cooper, who raised her; four children, Ricky Worcester of New Mexico, John Worcester of El Paso, Texas, David Worcester of Oklahoma City and Geneva Worcester of McLoud; six grandchildren; two sisters, Robin Fulsom and her husband, Weldon, of Ada, and Della Miller and her husband, Alvis, of Ada; a brother, Edward Don Worcester of Eagletown; two uncles, Melvin Worcester of Byng and D. D. Worcester of Lone Grove; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; and one sister.

Bearers will be Weldon Tulsom, Edison Sealy, Richard Meyers, Mike Norris, Carlin Thompson and Larry Colbert.
