Charles J. Richard

Ada — Graveside services for Charles J. Richard, 90, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Rosedale Cemetery; Rev. Charlie O’Daniel will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Richard died Sunday, August 4, 2013 at a local nursing home. He was born November 9, 1922 at St. Louis, Oklahoma to Israel Pete and Arnettie Little Richard. He and his family moved to this area when he was a child, and he attended Pecan Grove grade school and graduated from Latta High School.

He married Era Mae Goodpasture December 26, 1941. She preceded him in death May 9, 2003. Mr. Richard was a farmer, dairyman and also sold real estate. He attended Cumberland Presbyterian Church and later Ahloso Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Martha Penisten and her husband Jerry of Moore; a son, Dwayne Richard and his wife Sandy of Sulphur Springs, Texas; a special friend, Mary Lou Hayes of Ada; five grandchildren, Jason Richard and wife Molly, Kristi Henshaw and husband David, Jessica Bright and husband Adam, James Penisten and Jeremy Penisten; and six great grandchildren.

Bearers will be James Penisten, Jeremy Penisten, John Hayes, Robert Henry Hayes, Jason Richard and Jerry Stephens.
