Nelson Dale Lewis Sr.

WIchita, Kansas —

Services for Nelson Dale Lewis Sr., 76, of Wichita, Kan., formerly of Ada, Okla., are at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Alfred Douglas will officiate. Burial will follow at Athens Cemetery.

Mr. Lewis died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in Wichita, Kan.

He was born Feb. 3, 1937, in Ada, to Riley and Lessie B. Franklin Lewis. He attended Napier school in Ada and served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 until being discharged in 1962.

Survivors include his children, Sheila Lewis King and husband, Charles, Norman, Nelson Lewis Jr., Ada, Kenneth Peters, Oklahoma City, Jolanda Peters, Norman, Sabrina Brown, Wichita, Kan., and Rodney Peters, Oklahoma City; a brother, Richard Lewis and wife, Carrie, Pine Bluff, Ark.; three sisters, Mary McFadden and husband, Leroy, Ada, Shirley Townsend, Oklahoma City, and Victoria Douglas and husband, Alfred, Oklahoma City; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clara Lewis; two brothers, Eddie and Otis Lewis; two daughters, Deliliah Lewis and Terita Lewis; and two infant sons.

Bearers will be Quincy Lewis, Morico Lewis, Cody Lyons, Marcus Rogers, Zack Peters, and Cory Brown. Honorary bearers will be David King, Charles King, Tony Townsend, Leroy McFadden, Mooney and Mr. Black, William Franklin Jr. and Patrick Lewis
