A celebration of the life of Rosie Knight Westmoreland, 77, will be held July 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Southwest Church of Christ Family Life Center in Ada.
Mrs. Westmoreland died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, in Sierra Vista, Ariz. She was born July 19, 1935, to Will and Nannie Knight at Clarita,
After leaving Oklahoma, Mrs. Westmoreland spent most of her life in Alaska and Arizona. She lived in Patagonia, Ariz., for the past 18 years and volunteered at the senior center, where she made her “special” gravy for holidays and other events. She helped promote activities of the thrift store as a ministry at her church. She served as a member of the city council of Patagonia.
Survivors include her husband. Green "Wes" Westmoreland, Patagonia, Ariz.; two daughters, Donna Biggerstaff, Anchorage, Alaska, and Kimberly Rhodes, Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren, Brittany, Cameron, Chanae and Makenzee; four sisters, Bobbye Darbison and Bonnie Flowers, both of Ada, and Marie Tipsword and Sherry Wilhite, both of Albany, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jo Helen Knight and Pearl Mason, and two brothers, W. C. “Dub” Knight and Douglas Knight.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rosie Westmoreland may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) and/or the Alzheimers’s Association (www.alz.org).
