Ada — Memorial services for Louis Boyd Head, 86, of Ada, are 2 p.m. Friday, at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. John Haynes will officiate.
Mr. Head died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at a local hospital. He was born June 11, 1927, in Crane, Mo., to Clarence and Cora Spears Head. He attended school in Missouri.
He retired from Ideal Cement after 23 years. Mr. Head was also a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He had also served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until 1952.
Survivors include three step-daughters, LaVonda McCollum of Stonewall, Pat Coleman of Coalgate and Tamara Gregory of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Clista Meese; his grandchildren, Melissa A. Faulkner, Lakisha M. Faulkner, Matthew J. Gregory, Katelyn L. Gregory, Brandy D. Lamoni, Bill McCollum and Brandon and Cassie Lamoni; his great-grandchildren, Sammantha L. Watts, Dashawn M. Faulkner, Mariah S. Faulkner, Sadie K. Thompson, Nathan A. Faulkner, Trendunn J. Lamoni, Dakota R. McCollum and Brakelynn R. Lamoni; one sister, Jewel Garner of Aurora, Mo.; four brothers, his twin, Loyd Head of Verona, Mo., Carl Head of Stratford, Mo., Joe Lee Head of Verona, Mo., and Finis Head of Aurora, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his companion, Fannie McCollum; four step-daughters, Robin Lamoni, Quanda (Satch) Ogles, Jane Priest and Barbara Dew; three sisters, Joy Head, Lois Head-Bogart, and Corrine Head; and two brothers, Rule Head and Geral Head.
