John Henry Kaiser

Duncan — Services for John Henry Kaiser, 86, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Don Grantham Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Billy Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at New Bethel Cemetery in Byng. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. 

Mr. Kaiser died Monday, April 14, 2014, at Country Club Care Nursing Home in Duncan.

He was born Feb. 16, 1928, at Ada to William B. and Mary Myrtle (Hart) Kaiser. He graduated from Byng High School and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. 

He played baseball for the Navy Islanders, AAA Baseball in the Sooner Sate Baseball League with the Chickasha Chiefs, the Paris, Texas, Orioles and the Duncan Cementers. 

He married Naomi Coffey April 15, 1955, at Ada and she preceded him in death Sept. 21, 1986.

Mr. Kaiser retired from Halliburton services in 1979, co-owned and operated the Return Motel in Madill from 1979 to 1982 and returned to Byng to work in the school system from 1986 to 1996 then returned to Duncan for retirement.

Survivors include two sons Mike Kaiser and wife, Cindy, of Duncan, and Ronnie Kaiser and wife, Janet, of Wichita Falls, Texas; four brothers, including his twin, Joe Kaiser of Duncan, Harry Kaiser and wife, Yvonne, of Enid, Don Kaiser and wife, Sue, of Ada and James Paul Kaiser and wife, Ann, of Birmingham, Ala.; five sisters, Pauline Ross of Ada, Betty Sue Thompson of Midwest City, Mary Lou Miller of Tulsa, Roberta Moote and husband, Glen, of Wichita, Kan., and Rebecca Boren and husband, Roy, of Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren, Renea Gregston and husband, Davy, Cody Kaiser, Jake Kaiser and wife, Angela, and Justin Kaiser; three great-grandchildren Emma, Jonah and Naomi Kaiser; and a host of other family and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, three sisters Gretchen Kaiser, Juanita O’Donnell and Geraldine Stanfield and a great-grandchild Gavin Kaiser.

Bearers will be Jake Kaiser, Justin Kaiser, Cody Kaiser, Davy Gregston, William Burden and Scott Burden.
