Oklahoma City — Services for Betty Rae (Crawford) Caldwell, 70, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Unity Baptist Church, 1701 N. Nebraska in Oklahoma City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Spencer.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Temple and Sons Funeral Directors Inc., 2801 N. Kelley Ave., Oklahoma City.

Mrs. Caldwell died Monday, April 7, 2014.

She was born May 14, 1943, in Lehigh to Edgar and Ethel Crawford.

She was preceded in death by both parents and three siblings, Joyce and Janet Harlan and Emmitt Crawford.

At a young age, she moved to Ada and attended Napier School. Around age 16 she moved to Oklahoma City with her Aunt Mary. She attended Douglass High School and graduated in 1960. Mrs. Caldwell attended Central State (now known as the University of Central Oklahoma) briefly.

Betty married Raleigh Caldwell in September 1962 and to this union two children were born, Marcus and Marcena.

She started working at the phone manufacturer plant Western Electric (later known as AT&T and then Lucent Technologies) and served for over 30 years.

Survivors include her husband, Raleigh; children Marcus Sr. and wife, Kim, and Marcena and husband, Larry; nine grandchildren; one uncle, Robert “Jack” Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
