Ada — Services for T.J. Davis, 83, of Ada are 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel.Sam Woods, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall.
Mr. Davis died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at an Oklahoma City assisted living center. He was born Dec. 10, 1930, at Colorado City, Texas, to Thomas Jefferson and Erthel Ida Stevens Davis.
He married Betty Lou Murray on June 2, 1954, in Reno, Nev.
Mr. Davis was a truck driver for Joe Brown Ready Mix Company until his retirement. He was also a part time Pentecostal Holiness pastor. He served in the U.S. Army with the 180th Infantry Regiment and the 45th Infantry Division in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Davis, of the home; two sons, Tom Davis of South Dakota and Phillip Davis of Ada; three daughters, Phyllis Cordray and her husband, Tommy, of Ada, Shirley Faulkner and her husband, Allen, of Ada, and Charlene Davis of Norman; two sisters, Geneva Hoover Oliver of Oklahoma City and Rosetta Flowers Miller of Ada; two brothers, Billy Flowers of Owl Creek and Jimmy Flowers of Missouri; his grandchildren, Nicole Davis, Kyle Davis, Ben Davis, Josh Faulkner, Angela Sayre, Alicia Underwood and Tiffany Claxton; and three great-grandchildren, Landan Underwood, Luke Underwood and Caitlin Claxton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Kenneth Davis, Fagan Flowers, Harry Flowers and Dick Flowers; two sisters, Sylvia Bunch and Lois Boyd; and a granddaughter, Rachel Davis.
