Pauline Smith

BROKEN BOW —

Services for Pauline Laverne Smith, 95, Broken Bow, formerly of Ada are 2 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Bob Langston officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith died Thursday, March 28, 2013, in Broken Bow. She was born March 3, 1918, in Fitzhugh to James Earl and Nora Belle Ables Childress. She graduated from Fitzhugh High School.

She married Joe Henry Smith on March 20, 1936, in Ada. He died July 24, 2001, in Ada.

Mrs. Smith was a beauty operator for more than 40 years and worked at Gladys Beauty Shop in Ada until she retired in her mid to late 70’s. Mrs. Smith was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ada.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Earl Joe and Ardis Smith, Branson, Mo., and Don and Brenda Smith, Sherman, Texas; her grandsons, Joel Dickerson and wife Kim of Broken Bow, Alan Dickerson and wife Kimberley of Reading, Pa., Darrell Smith of Muskogee, James Smith and wife Heide of Branson, Mo., and Michael Smith of Sherman, Texas; her granddaughters, Paulette Burnett of Ada, Lori Cripe of Sherman, Texas, and Tina Godwin, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; her great- grandchildren, Kohl Dickerson, Tyler, Tiffany and Katlyne Self and Josiah, Micah and Madeline Dickerson, Jeffery Gipson, Jeremy Cripe, Brooke Smith, Ashley Spies, Kristina Everingham, Jeremy and Derek Godwin; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Smith; daughter, Carole Dickerson; brother, Norman Childress; and sister, Winona Stewart.
