Services for Berta Sue Bulman, 73, took place March 27 at Crossway First Baptist Church. Burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery, Sulphur.
Mrs. Bulman died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Midwest City. She was born Aug. 19, 1939, at Nash to Charles and Lois Hardiman Nelson.
She grew up in Nash and graduated from Nash High School. She obtained a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and a master’s degree in education from East Central University.
She married John G. Bulman on March 30, 1963, at Nash. After her marriage, Mrs. Bulman lived in Mill Creek before moving to the Ada area. She taught school at Stratford for one year before the family returned to the Mill Creek area in 1976. She taught home economics at Sulphur from 1977 until her retirement in 1999.
She was a member of Crossway First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bulman was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John G. Bulman, on Nov. 6, 2011; her parents; a brother, Dean Nelson; and a son-in-law, Brad Coyle.
Survivors include a daughter, Cozanne Coyle, Ada; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Kerri Bulman, Midwest City; a sister, Connie Nokes, Enid; and five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bulman, Kyle Bulman, Kamryn Bulman, Bree Coyle and J.B. “John Bradson” Coyle.
Bearers were Rick Thompson, Harris Penner, Bronson Warren, Shaun Nokes, Chuck Nelson and Joe Polasek. Honorary bearers were Allen “Butch” Hill, Phil Key, Larry Hobbs and Terry Dobson.
The family suggests donations be made in Mrs. Bulman’s memory to Crossway First Baptist Church for scholarships for youth to attend Falls Creek.
