Ada resident Kenneth Gipson was born on Sunday, Jan. 24, 1954, to Leonard and Eula (Williams) Gipson at Madill. He passed away on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Ada at the age of 58 years, 11 months and 27 days.
He graduated from Madill High School in 1973, then received his bachelor’s degree in radiology in 1980 from ECU.
Kenneth was a radiologic technologist for 32 years at the Pushmataha County Hospital in Antlers, Atoka Memorial Hospital and Chickasaw Nation Medical Center in Ada.
He was a member of the Mitchell Memorial Methodist Church in Ada.
He is survived by his mother, Eula (Williams) Gipson of Madill; siblings, Carter Gipson and wife, Theresa, of Noble, Darrell Gipson and wife, Donna, of Ada, Clara Sheffield of Pottsboro, Texas, and Jonathan Gipson and wife, Laura, of Ada; his longtime companion and friend, Odelia Tiger, and her children of Ada; and nieces and nephew, Deidre Clark and husband, Joe, Okinawa, Japan, Kathleen Badgett and husband, Scott, and their children Austin and Kiera, Shane Sheffield, Jessica Sheffield and Brittany Gipson-Whartenby.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Gipson, and his brother-in-law, Shawn Sheffield.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Pennington United Methodist Church in Reagan, with the Rev. Don Jacobs officiating. Interment will be in Cane Hill Cemetery.
Casketbearers are Roger Scott, Nathan Scott, Jimmy Scott, Allen Beck, Jon Gipson and Alan Gipson.
Honorary casketbearers are Chance Davis and Don Mose.
