Once upon a time, there was Margaret Anne Garber, 90, of Ada, who died peacefully on August 18 in Oklahoma City.
A Mass will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Rusty Hewes will officiate. A Rosary will precede at 2:00 p.m. at the Church.
Mrs. Garber died Sunday, August 18, 2013, at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born September 24, 1922, in Philadelphia, PA, to Rene J. and Margaret A. Byrne Grass.
She married Joseph Michael Garber and had four children, Joe, John, Maureen and Geoff. She was an accomplished wife and mother, den mother, an avid reader, a master chef, and artist. She enjoyed her Church, foreign travel, beach bumming, hot air ballooning, and backcountry Hummer touring.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her oldest son, daughter and Alice Abernathy Garber, her daughter-in-law.
Her other family members are John Garber and his wife, Mary, and Geoff Garber and his wife, Renee. Her grandchildren, Gabe, Lance, John Luke, Haliegh and Hanna Garber. Her granddaughters-in-law were Amy and Dana Garber. Her great-grandsons, Xander, Seth, Finn, Landen, and Luke Garber. Her favorite teenage friends are Allison Krause and Anna Semtner, with whom she had many adventures.
Bearers will be John Garber, John Luke Garber, Gabe Garber, Lance Garber and Geoff Garber, and John Cristelli.
