Danny Wayne Barrett

Ada — Services for Danny Wayne Barrett, 67, of Ada, are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Harold Ware will officiate. Burial will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery.

Mr. Barrett died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at his home.

He was born Feb. 18, 1946, in Ada to J. G. “Pete” and Joyce Hammons Barrett. 

He attended Ada grade school and graduated from Ada High School in 1964.

He married Claudene Cravatt on Sept. 29, 1977. She preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 2008. 

Mr. Barrett was a police officer for the City of Ada until his retirement. 

He was later a police officer with the East Central University Police Department until retiring. 

Mr. Barrett served in the U. S. National Guard and was a member of the Ada Lodge #119 AF & AM.

Survivors include a daughter, Samaiel Stokesberry of Ada; two sons, Ty Barrett and wife Debbie of Ft. Smith, Ark., and Danny Wayne Barrett Jr. and wife, Loni, of Tyler, Texas; his grandchildren, Kreid and Kaine Stokesberry, Catie Barrett, Casey Horton, Jamie Horton, Megan Barrett and Christian Richardson; a stepsister, Jeneatte Matthews of Ada; and a stepbrother, William Ray Griffith of Fitzhugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a son, Dustin Barrett.
