Edward “Eddie” Hawkins

Lake Kiowa, Texas — Services for Ronald Edward “Eddie” Hawkins, 46, of Lake Kiowa, Texas, and formerly of Moore will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Connerville First Baptist Church. The Rev. Scott Sundbye will officiate. Burial will follow at Connerville Cemetery.

Mr. Hawkins died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at a Sherman, Texas, hospital. 

He was born Oct. 28, 1967, at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dearborn, Ohio, to Jimmie Ray and Carol Jean Duncan Hawkins. He lived most of his life in Moore and graduated from Moore High School in 1985. He also attended Rose State College. 

Mr. Hawkins was employed with UPS until 1987. 

He then was employed in the Sheet Metal Union until his retirement in 2009. He relocated to Lake Kiowa, Texas, where he lived with his daughter.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Gainesville, Texas.

Survivors include his daughter, Tori Hawkins, of the home; his parents, Jim and Carol Hawkins of Lake Kiowa, Texas; a brother, Tony Hawkins and wife, Dana, and children Stoney, Brock and Raylie, all of Frisco, Texas; aunts, Barbara Williams and husband, Bob, of Ada and children Vicki of Ada, Laura of Stonewall and Bob of Stonewall; Martha Southard and husband, Tom, of Oklahoma City and children Tracey of Tulsa, Jamie of Pensacola, Fla., and Lee of Oklahoma City; Juanita Tilley and husband, Kenneth, of Casa Grande, Ariz., and children, Linda of Hastings, Neb., Kris of Concord, N.H., and Steve of Greer, S.C.; and many other cousins and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Ova Hawkins and Ervin and Lorene Duncan, and his best friend, Robert Davis.

Bearers will be his cousins and nephews.
