Stonewall — JIMMY DAVIS

STONEWALL — Services for James Eugene “Swamp Rat” Davis, 66, Stonewall, are 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Union Valley Baptist Church, the Revs. Randall Christy and Richard Dickerson officiating.  Burial follows at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall.  

Mr. Davis died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at a local hospital. He was born June 3, 1947, at Mobile, Ala., to Luey Green and Joyce Lorraine Kyser Davis.

He graduated from Stonewall School.  Mr. Davis was a truck driver for many years.

He was a longtime member and head usher at Union Valley Baptist Church.  Mr. Davis was in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.

Survivors include his son, Greg Davis and his wife April, of Ada; a daughter, Kassi Davis of Stonewall; three sisters, Sue Bricker and her husband Dudley of Ada, Sherry Burns and her husband Ronnie of Ada, and Sheila Odom and her husband Noel of Sibley, La.; three grandchildren, Tana Davis, Paige Taylor and Lynndie Taylor; and a best friend Jerry Catherine Robertson of Stonewall.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donnie Davis.

Bearers are Greg Davis, Robbie Black, Clint Heflin, Derrill Black, Dudley Bricker and Noel Odom.
