Services for Sharon Ann Curtis Dilling, 67, Charleston, W. Va., formerly of Ada, Okla., are 11 a.m. Friday at Ada Church of the Nazarene, the Rev. Lyle Curtis officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. The family is receiving friends from 5-6 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Ms. Dilling died Saturday, June 8, 2013, in Charleston, W.Va. She was born Sept. 23, 1945, in Drumright, Okla., to Henry Monroe and Lorene Hamilton Curtis.
She graduated from Poteau High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Bethany Nazarene College, which is now Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Okla.
Ms. Dilling was an elementary school teacher in numerous communities across Oklahoma until she retired in 2006 from Healdton Public School System. She moved to Charleston, W.Va., with her family in February 2013. She was a member of the Ada Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include a son, Clint Dilling of Charleston, W.Va.; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Scott Courter, Charleston, W.Va.; three brothers, Lyle Curtis, Overland Park, Kan., Kenneth Curtis, San Diego, Calif., and Charles Curtis, South Padre Island, Texas; and a granddaughter, Ella Courter.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to a scholarship in memory of Ms. Dilling’s father, H.M. Curtis “Preacher Boy,” at Southern Nazarene University. Donations should be made payable to Southern Nazarene University and MUST include “H.M. Curtis “Preacher Boy” Memorial Scholarship Endowment” written in the memo line.
