Steve Moon

BENTON, Ark. —

Services for Steven Joe Moon, 40, Benton, formerly of Ada, Okla., are at 10 a.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Ada. Charles Kymes is officiating. Burial follows at Vamoosa Cemetery.

The family received friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Moon died Wednesday, June 4, 2013, at his home in Benton. He was born Jan. 13, 1973, in Seminole. He graduated from Ada High School in 1991 and in 1997 received a bachelor of science degree in biology and a minor in chemistry from East Central University in Ada. Mr. Moon was president of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity while at East Central University.

He married Shannon Lazarski on Sept. 10, 1999, in Killeen, Texas.

Mr. Moon was a Food and Drug Administration scientist at Pine Bluff Research Center through the U.S. Health Services. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 29, 1998, and received a medical discharge Jan. 21, 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Shannon Moon, of the home; two sons, Jackson Moon and Tyler Moon, both of the home; his parents, Glenda and Jack Terry, Konawa, and Joe and Glenda Moon, Ada; a sister, Tina Moon, Shawnee; grandparents, Evert and Lillian Anderson, Konawa; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Suzanne Lazarski, Powder Springs, Ga.; brother-in-law, Bradford Lazarski, Powder Springs, Ga.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Valerie and Gian Park, Powder Springs, Ga.; and two nieces, Rachel and Lauren Park, both of Powder Springs, Ga.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mirl and Lucille Moon.
