Two Sulphur residents were injured Tuesday in a wreck just north of Madill.

The wreck occurred at 8:03 a.m. on U.S. 377. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Darren Alexander said 30-year-old Tosha M. Billy of Sulphur was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Impala north when she ran off the road to the right.

The vehicle struck a culvert and overturned onto its roof.

Billy refused treatment at the scene.

A passenger, 39-year-old Traci E. Cates of Sulphur, was pinned in the vehicle until being freed by Madill firefighters. Cates was taken by Air Evac Lifeteam to Plano Medical Center in Plano, Texas, and admitted in serious condition with head and leg injuries.

A second passenger, 22-year-old Jacob W. Edwards of Sulphur, was also injured. He was also taken by Air Evac Lifeteam to Plano Medical Center and admitted in serious condition with trunk external injuries.

Alexander said only the driver was wearing a seat belt.

Marshall County sheriff’s deputies, Marshall County EMS and Tishomingo firefighters also responded.
