Two women were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting more than $1,000 worth of merchandise at Wal-Mart Wednesday.

Amber Rachelle Thurman, 25, Ada, and Tracy Renee Sanders, 28, Allen, were arrested on suspicion of grand larceny and trespassing.

A report from the Ada Police Department said a loss prevention specialist at Wal-Mart requested an officer in reference to two adult shoplifters.

Paul Easley of loss prevention told Ada Police Officer Terry McNeal he witnessed two females in women’s wear with two carts full of merchandise.

Easley said he saw the two sacking up the merchandise in bags they had with them, the report said. Easley said Thurman and Sanders went to the grocery section and started sacking up more merchandise, McNeal said.

The women pushed the two carts out the store’s north exit and were apprehended by Easley, according to the report.

The merchandise in both carts amounted to $1,083.02. The two women have been arrested in Wal-Mart previously, therefore both were arrested on suspicion of trespassing as well as grand larceny.

Thurman and Sanders were taken to the city jail and bond was set by Judge Miller at $5,000 each.
