The city of Ada is beginning a project to clean up and remove the excessive silt in Wintersmith Lake.

During the clean-up process, the lake will be drained several feet to ensure the best results.

Certain trails and other areas may not be accessible at all times throughout the project. Signs will be posted in designated areas.

“We have been planning this beautification project for some time,” said Parks Director Scott Lowrance. “We chose to complete the task after the holidays and during the colder months.”

Lowrance said he expects the project to be completed by the spring.
