SULPHUR — Park rangers from the Chickasaw National Recreation Area will be conducting a wildflower walk along the trail at Veterans Lake.

Park rangers will identify various wildflowers and a bit about these heralds of the season while walkers enjoy a tour of the walking trail.

The walk will start at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 2, from the northeast trailhead of Veterans Lake Trail.  This trailhead is located past the pavilion area, all the way to the road end (not the trailhead on the dam).

Walkers will need to take water, a hat, sunscreen, and wear comfortable shoes.  The walk will last about an hour and rangers encourage everyone to continue hiking the trail and/or to enjoy a picnic on the tables by the lake.
