Two people were injured in area wrecks over the weekend.
The first crash occurred in Garvin County on County Road 1525 one-half mile west of CR 3220 at 9:38 p.m. Friday.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Tommy Riddle said Kelley Ray Lewis, 31, Paoli, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet pickup west when he stopped on a bridge with no railing.
Lewis attempted to turn around when the pickup fell off the bridge and landed upside down.
Lewis was taken by EMS to Pauls Valley General Hospital then taken by Air Evac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was admitted in critical condition with head and leg injuries.
Riddle said Lewis was not wearing a seat belt and based on his investigative opinion, said Lewis was driving under the influence of alcohol.
A Stonewall man and a Tupelo man escaped injury in a two-vehicle wreck in Murray County Sunday.
OHP Trooper Doug Brinson said the wreck occurred on an Interstate 35 off ramp.
Brinson said Thomas Seth Smith, 55, Durant, was driving a 2008 GMC pickup east when he failed to yield from a stop sign and pulled into the path of a Kenworth semi truck driven by Shane Allen Wilkerson, 26, Tupelo.
Wilkerson and a passenger, Marcus Jamal Boaz, 19, Stonewall, were not injured. Smith was taken by Murray County EMS to Mercy Memorial Hospital in Ardmore. He was admitted with head and internal injuries.
