A rollover wreck sent two people to the hospital Sunday.
The crash occurred on County Road 1650 five miles east of Roff at 5:30 p.m., according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Brian Bagwell.
Bagwell said 29-year-old Robert Phillips of Roff was driving a 2005 Ford Taurus when he ran off the road.
“(Phillips) was eastbound on CR 1650,” Bagwell said. “The vehicle departed the roadway to the left striking a fence... (and) rolled one time coming to rest on its wheels.”
Bagwell said Phillips and four passengers were wearing seat belts. Phillips was taken by Valley View EMS to Chickasaw Nation Medical Center in Ada and admitted with internal injuries. He is listed as stable.
A passenger, 5-year-old McKenzie Phillips of Roff, was taken to Chickasaw Nation Medical Center then, transferred to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was admitted with arm injuries and is listed as stable.
One passenger, 25-year-old Angela Phillips of Roff, refused treatment, Bagwell said. Two other passengers, 3-year-old Gavin Phillips and 7-year-old Laura Phillips, both of Roff, were not injured.
Based on his investigation, Bagwell listed the cause of the wreck as “inattention-other distraction inside the vehicle.”
Pontotoc County sheriff’s deputies, firefighters from Roff, Fittstown and Ada, and Roff police also responded.
