SEMINOLE — Seminole State College Trojan Baseball Team will hold its annual Trojan Alumni Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the Enoch Kelly Haney Center.  2003 Cy Young Winner and 1995 Trojan, Eric Gagne will be the speaker for the evening.  Tickets for the event are $15.  Corporate sponsorship tables seating eight are also available for $200.

Several former Trojans who now play professional baseball are expected to attend.  Ryan Franklin of the Seattle Mariners, Shane Hatler of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Kelly Stinnett of the New York Yankees plan to be in attendance, as well as former Trojans baseball coach, Lloyd Simmons.

The Trojans open the 2006 season on Feb. 11 at home with a triple header—two games against Laredo and one against North Central Texas.  SSC head baseball coach Eric Myers said the strength of this year’s team will be pitching and tough defense.

“We’re expectingt to have an excellent season,” said Myers.  “The current roster includes 10 players who were drafted in the 2005 draft.”
