A 79-year-old Allen woman was injured when the Chrysler van she was driving went left of center and hit a tractor.

A report from Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper James McKee said Helen V. Horton, Allen, was driving east on a county road one mile east of Lula.

The report said she crossed the center line and hit an oncoming tractor.

The tractor was driven by Donald E. Keeling, 31, Wapanucka, the report said.

Horton’s van skidded off the road into a ditch.

Horton was pinned inside the van for 25 minutes before being freed by Ada and Lula firefighters.

Firefighters used a hydraulic cutting tool to free the woman.

Horton was taken by ambulance to Valley View Regional Hospital.

She was admitted in fair condition with leg and external injuries, the report said.

McKee said Horton was wearing a seat belt and Keeling was not injured.

Road and weather conditions were damp and foggy according to McKeel.
