STONEWALL — Thanks to an anonymous tip, Gary Ogwin, 51, Stonewall has been arrested for the suspicion of cultivation of marijuana and false impersonation.

According to Stonewall Police Chief Jason Teel, an anonymous tip lead him and his fellow officers to a house on S. Harrison in Stonewall. The tip informed the Stonewall Police Department that Ogwin was suspected of growing marijuana out of his home.

“We did a knock and talk, and could see the plants growing in the alley,” said Teel. When Ogwin was first questioned by the officers, he provided them with a false name, which lead to the impersonation charge.

A 15-year-old male was also arrested for the suspicion of cultivation of marijuana.

The Stonewall Police Department confiscated four marijuana plants, a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

“I appreciate the citizens getting involved and giving information. This all came about because of an anonymous tip. Sometimes only a small amount of information can lead to getting drugs off our streets,” Teel said. “I appreciate and encourage all citizens to get involved.”
