ADA — Ada Arts Picnic in the Park is 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, in the Sculpture Garden at Wintersmith Park. The event is part of the Ada Arts Council’s celebration of October as National Arts and Humanities Month.

Arts Picnic in the Park bring together local artists and musicians in a casual setting for the community to meet and enjoy their work. There will be free hot dogs and cokes for everyone while they last, free face painting for the kids and the Kiwanis Club will open its park to visitors for a different type of entertainment.

An added feature to this year’s event will be a series of outdoor prizes donated by area merchants to be given away to those attending the event. Participants must be present to win.

The Ada Arts Council welcomes the community to the unique event and encourages families to attend. Artists attending the event will be Randy Underwood, stain glass artist; Judith Black Whomble, spinning; Rich Alford; Kate Rivers and students from her drawing class; June Sims, painter; Storm Strickland Thompson, painter; Rudy Lipinski and friends, music; Mark Hollingsworth, bagpiper; and various student music ensembles from East Central University.
