STONEWALL — Brian Monroe, a senior at Stonewall High School, earned a $200 scholarship by winning the local level of competition in the 2005-2006 TDS National Essay Contest.

Monroe’s essay will advance to the regional level of TDS National Essay Contest judging and then compete for a $10,000 scholarship.

“Brian’s creativity really came through in the essay. We’re pleased to provide some financial assistance to his continuing education,” says Ron Bradshaw, TDS-Manager Market Management

TDS will announce the national winner in May. The sponsoring teacher or guidance counselor will receive $500 for educational materials.

TDS Telecom awards more than $30,000 in scholarships each year to high school juniors and seniors across the country through the National Essay Contest.
