SULPHUR — At approximately 8:21 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, officers of the Sulphur Police Department were dispatched to the 1700 block of West Tulsa Street to a reported burglary in progress.

Arriving officers contacted Bailey Durington, 53, Sulphur, as he was standing outside the residence armed with two sharp sticks. The victims told officers that Durington came to their residence and began breaking windows of the residence with sticks. Durington then allegedly entered the residence through the front entrance where he was confronted by the occupants.

Durington was taken into custody and booked into the Murray County Jail on charges for the suspicion of first degree burglary, assault with a motor vehicle and malicious injury to property.

The case is currently under investigation.
